Many businesses are considering changing their business phone systems from traditional PBX systems or Centrex VOIP (Voice Over Internet) system. Often the conclusion is that changes in the basic technology management from their business phone system is probably worth the risk: the fear of the unknown, like you.

What many business managers don t realize is that a large percentage of their business is telephone traffic carried by VOIP ready. All the major phone companies are switching to VOIP, it's basically more effective just to send voice traffic in the form of packetized traffic than the line segment. Thus, t ISN question: Can I change the VOIP?,'S probably because you have.

The real question business managers and IT managers should ask themselves is: Do I make effective use my internet connection (s)?

For example, if your business has 24 phone lines, when they all used, you use the close relationship T1 (1.5 MB / sec in each direction). But, when only 12 lines are used, which used only 750 Kb. What happened to other people? This is just lazy that you have to pay and do not use.

One thing is true of the line of your business information. If you have a T1 connection to your business data and Internet connections, how many actually use? Browsing the network looks like and email spend very little relationship with many users when the content is easy to read (no data transmission time). So what happens to the unused capacity, lazy that you have to pay and do not use.

Maybe you can read about the amount of data traffic that you use to ask your IT person or Kisakinishi monitoring network traffic through the router. You may find that you are using only 10% of capacity. As far as concerns the voice traffic, data you use on each phone 65Kb/sec ACTIVE. Active is the key word; what you need to consider what the maximum concurrent number of phones in use at one time. Look around and see how many of the phones in use at some time during peak hours you.

Thus, the determination of truth is one of capacity. Added to the scope of mobile phone use, multiply and 65Kb, and then increase the use of your data. Added margin of safety and capacity that is that you need your internet connection.

And by routing your calls over VOIP, you can avoid paying a claim now offered by many phone companies. The reason for this is that VOIP calls sent over the Internet until it reaches the destination city and then they will be processed as a local call recipient.

Thus, as has been obsessed about the dangers of switching to VOIP, stop afraid even start thinking about your network and your ability to use them effectively.
